Are diamond cluster engagement rings yet in style?

At Same Time As I love the glassy look of emerald cuts and baguettes. I’m not that madman about diamonds to be honest. I wear lots of various color jewelry.

As Result a color stone is out of the question.

I preferable diamonds as accents and broken up as clusters over a single more massive stone.

As Result that’s why I’m thinking a diamond cluster or eternity band. I need something urbane and classy. Some other setting offers?

No diamond clusters really aren’t in style, but get what you like. Consider a smaller diamond with a halo setting, or consider the emerald, which I love and have.

A cluster is a classic.

There are many different styles…
Careful to choose one you can fit/match a wedding band with.

Also too much bling can be not good…

If you love cluster rings, then get one. In the end, you are the one who has to be happy with what you get! It doesn’t matter what everybody else thinks. With that said, diamond cluster rings, at least right now, are considered to be very tacky/cheap looking and not very stylish. Because larger stones are in style (with average engagement rings being between .50 and 1.00 carats), the small cluster of stones looks like a poor attempt to get a larger stone, which in the end, is much more valuable, which is why larger stones are preferred. Maybe it’s growing up listening to a young Madonna that has shaped today’s society into such that “We are living in a material world…

Eternity bands are very nice, my wedding ring is one, but you have to be careful with them.

As we age, sometimes our fingers change size and eternity bands cannot be resized. My jeweler suggested I buy my eternity band a half size bigger than my actual ring size as long as I was going to wear my engagement ring with it to help keep it in place, so that if my finger gets bigger, my ring will still fit.

I think beetlemilk’s idea of a halo ring will be a great ring that is somewhere in between a cluster ring and the more traditional large stone ring. Halo rings are gaining in popularity and are gorgeous! You can get them with nearly any shaped stone too! The first link is to an emerald diamond halo ring.

The second is to a round diamond halo ring with a matching wedding band; they come as a set.

The last link is to a cushion cut victorian halo ring.

All three settings are available in 18k white gold, platinum or 18k yellow gold, all of which is recycled.

You can choose your diamond and all stones are from ethical sources.

The website I used also donates 5% of its profits to help those in Africa. Brilliant Earth is a Canadian company, so most of its diamonds are from Canada.

They ship with no problem to the USA and all of Canada of course!

Cluster engagement rings are certainly still in fashion but now are mostly called the right hand rings. Becuse a cluster looks more like a cocktail ring than an engagemen ring.

Currently the halo 9single or double row of diamonds outline the center diamond) look is very popular. Eternity bands have always been very elegant and timeless so if you have the choice go with an eternity.

I agree with Lydia – clusters are a classic. I just chose one as my engagement ring, and I don’t believe it’s cheap or tacky at all.

The recent trend is to get the huge gaudy let-me-out-do-the-next-girl ring, but like everything else in fashion, those too will go out of style. I believe that you should get what you want because it’s your ring for the rest of your life. Besides, who wrote the rules of engagement rings anyway? You can’t put a tackiness level or a price on a symbol of love.
